May 6th

Yo!

Today I woke up at Rachel's and her parents took us to brunch at a totally amazing diner called Pop Diner. It was decorated like it was from the 60's. So of course, I loved it. On the way back, we were all in the car and Nate Ruess' voice came on the radio. Oh boy, that man can sing the phone book and I'd be impressed.

Shortly after, Rachel and I decided to go see the Avengers, and being a Sunday afternoon in NY of course it was sold out. So we saw The Raven instead.

It's no Say Anything, but I guess it was alright (no it wasn't, I'm trying to be nice). On a scale of 1 to Shawshank, I'd rank it a 1.5. Haha.

At last, once the movie was over it was time to pick up SLOAN! We snatched her up at Penn Station, then we headed over to NYU to meet up with one Clara Parker Hill.

Clara was in the process of moving out of her dorm room, so we got the chance, nay, the privilege to meet her fantastic stalker-esque roommate. Lovely girl.

All packed up and ready to go, we set out for the Hill House, upon arrive we ate some good Chinese Food and chatted it up with the family. Clara had some homework to finish, so Sloan and I prepared ourselves for Europe by watching Eurotrip (in retrospect, GREATEST IDEA EVER!) So funny, Scotty doesn't even know!

We had to be up at 5:30AM and decided it was probably a good idea to go to sleep. Which of course meant that we stayed up talking and helping Clara with her homework until about 3AM.

T minus not a lot of hours until I'm on a plane to Europe!!!

Until tomorrow,

JEN

May 5th

Hey there Journal,

Today marks the start of a most righteous adventure; Backpacking EUROPE for 35 days!!!! Sooo excited, I can not contain myself.

Naturally today started off super early. I tried to sleep but of course didn't succeed. So I watched Freaks &Geeks instead. The last 3 episodes.....God, its such a good show and such a shame it only had one season.

My alarm was set for 4:30AM, Dad drove me to Midway and I got there at 6:15AM...my flight was at 7, so I totally cut that way to close. But alas, I made it to NEW YORK....unfortunately though...my backpack did not. Now before you have a heart attack, dear journal, just know that in the end I got it delivered a few hours later thanks to a lovely Maspeth-bred gentleman named Jason.

OMG! RACHEL! I LOVE THIS GIRL! I'VE MISSED HER SO MUCH!

Rachel picked me up from there airport and we went to get our nails does, then we went for some food at Good Eats, mmm Ceaser wrap and sweet potato fries, yum! After lunch we went to the Guggenheim Museum and saw some Transformer art pieces, and then headed to a church with a sick garden!

For dinner we headed to restaurant row at ate at a place called Bourbon St. which was fantastically delicious, and the dessert, mmm. Let's not also forget what was on TV that day, journal, the Kentucky Derby....LOL...right place, right time! For sure!!

Not to overwhelm you J, but the day is not over, for the finale of the day we saw a Broadway show called Peter and the Starcatcher. FUCKING HILARIOUS, I recommend it to EVERYONE! I knew nothing about the show going into beside the fact that it had something to do with Peter Pan...and oh my god, so good!!

After the show we finally headed home to hang out and watch YouTube videos. lol. We are hilarious!!

It's finally begun...are you ready?

<3 Always,
JEN
